During the winter our practice space is inside, and during the summer our practice space is outside which means that our ability to practice is weather dependent. Please check the TVR Freshmeat Facebook event page for weather-related cancellations prior to the start of each day of Open Enrollment.

How to become a Fresh Meat skater:
Come and play for Treasure Valley Roller Derby! No previous skating experience needed – we will provide you with all of the skills you need and transform you from a timid skater into a mean, green hitting machine! All you need is a good attitude and the willingness to learn (and be at least 18 years old, please).
When you attend our Open Enrollment for Fresh Meat, we will provide the following equipment: quad skates, pads (knee, elbow, and wrist), and a helmet. The gear is free for you to borrow for the first 30 days, after which you’ll need to get your own. If you need some extra time, no worries, gear is just $5/practice to rent after the first 30 days. You will need your own mouth guard, we recommend the Sisu brand which you can find online or at Play it Again Sports, or the Wilson brand available at Wal-Mart.
Once you’ve been skating with us for 30 days, you will be required to pay league dues at $30/month. We hold draft every two months, which consists of a skills test and scrimmage. Every Fresh Meat class will cover the skills you need to pass, so you’ll be well prepared!
Fresh Meat practices are currently held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm and Sunday mornings 9:00-11:00am.
